I recently found this SKY News segment about my ambitious project that was aired in Europe and the Middle East in December 1997.

Back then I was working for Friends of the Earth Middle East as well as the Director of Sea Studies in the Arava Elementary School. I came up with this marine conservation/educational project idea to make it clear to students that corals are alive.

I raised the funds and escorted the pilot year. The project started as a collaboration with the Underwater Observatory in Eilat that since then continued with it as their main conservation effort. We started with 40 fifth grade students from the Arava Elementary School in Eilat, twenty years later more then 600 students from a variety of schools are involved annually.

The Israeli Ministry of Education recognized the project with a Special Educational Achievement Award a few years back.
